South by Southwest will take place between 14th and 20th of March, 2022. This will be the 36th edition of the Austin-based annual conference. The festival was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, and held in a virtual format earlier in 2021. Founded in 1987 in Austin, Texas, SXSW is best known for its conference and festivals that celebrate the convergence of tech, film, music, education, and culture.

Reggie Fils-Aimé, the former president and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America, will be among the keynote speakers. Fils-Aimé led the North American division of Japanese video game company Nintendo from 2006 to 2019. Currently, Fils-Aimé is the founder and managing partner of Brentwood Growth Partners, an investment firm, and he recently was named chairman of UTA Acquisition Corporation, which is among a category of companies created for the purpose of buying other businesses.

SXSW will include sessions focused on a range of topics, including artificial intelligence; next-generation tech and live entertainment; climate change; the creator economy; and transportation.
