Social media behemoth Instagram is adding a purchase option to its chat area
When people are chatting with a qualified small business on Instagram, they’ll now be able to make purchases without leaving the chat. For example, if a user is interested in a backpack, all they have to do is send a message to the business about it.
From there, they can chat about customizations — like adding initials — and then place their order right in the chat.
In that same chat thread, they’ll also be able to track the order and ask the business any follow-up questions.
In addition, they’ll be able to use Meta Pay to complete purchases, making checkout possible inna few taps.
