Costco Pumps Up Online Suppliers

The wholesaler expects to have all its warehouse inventory online on its online platform called Costco Next

Costco aims to have 28 more warehouse units in place this year and has expanded the merchants’ inventory for online shoppers.

The wholesaler expects to have all its warehouse inventory, as well as Instarcart inventory, online by the end of March and has expanded its suppliers to 37 on its online platform called Costco Next.

There are now approximately 1,000 curated items, according to the company’s latest earnings call.

The company’s eCommerce sales increased 12.6% year over year, and strong sales were seen in jewelry, tires, special items, patio and garden as well as home furnishings.

Recently, Costco Wholesale Corp announced that it will charter seven ships, up from three previously, in order to increase its supply chain flexibility. The company has also leased containers for use on these ships, which will transport goods between Asia, the U.S. and Canada.

What is Costco Next?

Costco works with top suppliers of products to bring more value to our Members through Costco Next. Costco only refers current members to Costco Next suppliers. When you transfer to one of our suppliers’ sites, you will be able to purchase directly from that Costco supplier. For any items purchased on the supplier website, the supplier will ship, provide customer service and handle returns. Purchases at the supplier do not qualify for Costco Executive benefits and are not included in the 2% reward calculation.
